mpogoal is a web-based program that allows users to track the progress of MPO goals.
To gather feedback on regional transportation priorities, MPO staff conducted a combination of in-person and online public outreach. They distributed surveys to the Advisory Council, TIP contacts, and MPO board members that asked them to rank all 15 priorities. MPO staff also held a series of focus groups with advocacy and civic engagement organizations.
Respondents often highlighted the importance of expanding the region’s transit system to improve access and equity. Many respondents also emphasized the need to reduce congestion and emissions. The MPO will incorporate these priorities into new project evaluation criteria that are shaped by other goal areas.
Respondents also stressed the Mpogoal of promoting economic development. They noted that investment in infrastructure and services that increase opportunities for low-income and minority communities would improve economic vitality. The MPO will consider these priority in developing a future vision and investments that align with its long-range plan, Destination 2040.
